Ran into a guy at an anime convention who hated subs

Last weekend at Anime Expo in LA, this dude told me he only watches dubbed anime because he can't read fast enough. He said he missed half the action in Demon Slayer because the subtitles were too quick. Has anyone else met someone with a strong opinion on sub vs dub that changed how you see it?

Dude I met at a con once swore he could lip sync the dub perfectly.

Thats the kind of claim that only makes sense if you've never actually tried it. I've seen people try to lip sync foreign dubs and it always looks like a bad karaoke video. The mouth movements are almost never on beat unless you're timing it to the exact syllable. Plus most dubs have to shorten or stretch lines to fit the original animation, so you'd have to memorize those weird pauses. I bet that guy was just trying to impress someone at the con.
