My buddy in a discord call last night changed my mind on dubs vs subs
I've always been a sub-only guy, been watching anime for like 8 years now. But my friend Tom, who got into anime during covid, said he watches dubs because he can multitask while he works. At first I thought he was crazy, but he pointed out that shows like Cowboy Bebop and FMAB have legitimately good english casts. He told me he watched 40 episodes of One Piece last week while meal prepping, and honestly I had no come back for that. Now I'm thinking about giving Attack on Titan a rewatch with the dub, has anyone else had their stance on subs changed by a specific conversation?

Laughing at the idea that meal prepping is the thing that finally broke the sub vs dub barrier. Dude's out here acting like he discovered a life hack for watching One Piece while chopping onions. I've seen the AOT dub and it's fine I guess, but rewatching it just to switch formats feels like a waste of time when you could be watching something new. Let me know when they dub a show where the lip flaps actually match, then we'll talk.
