Found a fansub DVD from 2006 in my parents' attic last weekend

Popped it in my old laptop to see if it still played, and the translation was so hilariously bad that half the dialogue was just random internet memes from that era, has anyone else stumbled across old bootleg anime copies that aged like milk?

And the subs would just randomly throw in "all your base are belong to us" every few minutes.

That "all your base" thing was everywhere in 2000s fansubs lol. I had one copy of Fushigi Yugi where every time someone got angry the sub would just say "You got owned!" in bright yellow Impact font. And they'd sneak in "pwnd" after every fight scene even when nobody was talking about computers or gaming. The worst one I remember was this badly encoded Evangelion rip where during the big psychological scenes with Shinji they'd put up subtitles like "u mad bro?" and "check yourself before you wreck yourself." Completely ruined the mood but man, 14 year old me thought it was the funniest thing ever.
