Crunchyroll's player crashed during the finale of my favorite show
I was watching the last episode of a show I'd been following for 6 months and right at the big reveal their stupid player buffered and froze. Then it skipped ahead 5 minutes and I missed the emotional climax. I emailed support and they basically said tough luck. Who else has had a streaming service completely ruin a big moment like that for them?

Funny enough, a similar thing happened to me with Netflix a few years back during a season finale of a crime drama. The stream froze right when the detective was about to name the killer, and by the time it came back, they were already in the interrogation room. I spent a good 20 minutes rewinding and squinting at the closed captions just to piece together what I missed.

I actually read somewhere that Crunchyroll's whole CDN setup is held together with duct tape during peak hours. I saw a breakdown from a tech site that said their edge servers can't handle the traffic spikes on finale nights. It's crazy that they still haven't fixed it after all these years, especially when you're paying like $15 a month for the privilege of getting your finale ruined. Did you at least see the reveal even though it skipped, or was it totally gone?
