PSA: Do NOT buy those cheap "restored" turntables on eBay
I dropped $80 on one of those refurbished Technics from a seller with good reviews. Got it, plugged it in, and the whole thing hummed like a fridge. Took it apart and found they just slapped a new belt on and called it good. The motor mount was completely shot. Lost $80 and a whole Saturday trying to fix it myself. Anyone else get burned by these fake "restorations" from online sellers?

Oh man, that sucks. I got burned on a "fully restored" Dual from some eBay shop. The platter wobbled like a broken washing machine. They just wiped the dust off and called it a day. Learning the hard way that "restored" means nothing on there.
