The week my developing tank leaked and I lost 4 rolls of a wedding gig
I shot a whole Saturday wedding in Austin, got home, and my Paterson tank had a tiny crack I didn't see. 4 rolls of 120 film got completely ruined by chemical stains. Am I crazy for still using plastic tanks or should I just suck it up and get a stainless steel one?

That little crack cost you, but I've had stainless steel tanks leak worse than plastic.

My buddy used a two part epoxy on his stainless tank once and it held for like three years before we finally replaced it. I patched a plastic tank with that flex tape stuff after a rock went through it and it actually worked way better than I expected. The key is roughing up the surface real good before you apply anything, otherwise it just peels off after a few months. I figure if you get a clean repair on either material it'll last longer than people give credit for.
