Spent 3 hours trying to figure out why my negatives were completely blank

I loaded a roll of Portra 400 into my Pentax K1000 last week, shot a whole roll at my cousin's wedding, and when I developed it at home the entire thing came out absolutely clear. No images at all. Turns out I somehow forgot to actually pull the film advance lever far enough on every single shot and the film never moved past frame zero. Three hours of troubleshooting and a ruined roll of expensive film later, I felt like a complete idiot. Has anyone else done something this boneheaded with a mechanical camera?

Does it really matter though? It's just photos of a wedding, not brain surgery.

Oh man, you'd think brain surgery would be easier sometimes. At least with brain surgery you don't have to deal with Aunt Karen demanding you photoshop her double chin out of every single picture. In my experience, wedding photos matter a lot to the couple in the moment but nobody else really cares after a year or two. Your mileage may vary of course, I'm just some guy who's spent way too long staring at pictures of people's centerpieces and wondering why I agreed to help.
