Saw my negatives were totally clear after a whole roll and realized I'd loaded the film backwards in my Canon AE-1

Took me 3 months and a trip to the camera shop in Austin before a guy there pointed out the emulsion was facing the wrong way, has anyone else made this dumb mistake with a manual camera?

Oh man, that's rough! I actually read somewhere that this is way more common than people think, especially with older manual cameras where the film path isn't as obvious. A lot of folks don't realize the emulsion side has to face the lens or the light just passes through and exposes nothing. I've heard stories of people like you going months before someone finally points out the film was backwards, so you're not alone there. Did the camera shop give you any tips for double checking next time, like feeling for the film curl?

Three months seems like a lot of time to not just check the manual or YouTube first.
