Pulled my film too hard and got a light leak spiral

Was developing a roll of HP5 in my kitchen last Friday and yanked the film off the reel too fast. The whole thing came off and rolled up into a tight curl. When I scanned it there's a weird spiral shaped light leak running through 6 frames. Learned to cut the film leader at a gentler angle and not rush the loading step. Anyone else messed up a whole roll from one dumb mistake?

Light leaks are part of the fun though, right? Six frames out of a whole roll isn't the end of the world and some people pay extra for that lo-fi look. Maybe just call it a happy accident and move on.

Oh man, @grayw32 you're SO right about that! Honestly, six frames out of 36 is barely a blip, and that accidental character is what makes film photography feel alive instead of just sterile digital perfection. I'd rather have a roll with a few "happy accidents" than a boring perfectly clean one any day.
