I fixed my light leak with a hair tie and a piece of black tape from my glovebox
I kept getting a weird orange streak on the right side of every roll from my Canon AE-1, and I finally traced it to the hinge seal that had turned to sticky goo. I wrapped a hair tie around the back door and taped over the hinge gap with a scrap of black tape I found in my glovebox, and shot a whole roll at the beach on Saturday with zero leaks. Has anyone else done a quick patch job like this, and how long did it hold up before you finally resealed the camera for real?
