I finally ruined a whole roll of film by forgetting to advance it
Shot 36 frames of my trip to the Grand Canyon last month, only to realize I never actually wound the film after loading it so every picture was a double exposure on the same spot. Has anyone else had a brain fart like this and ended up with a useless roll?

Wait, actually... that's not quite right. Double exposures mean the frames overlapped, not that they all landed on the exact same spot. You still shot 36 unique photos, they just have two images stacked on each other.

Wait, you're saying @beth559 is actually right about that? That blows my mind a little because I always thought double exposures stacked everything on top of each other until I actually tried it once. I guess the mechanism still advances the film, it just doesn't move it to a fresh frame so you end up with two shots in the same space (which is way cooler than what I assumed happened to you).
