Can we talk about the "perfect" light leak look that everyone seems to love now?
I drove up to Big Sur two weekends ago with a beat-up Canon F-1, half expecting some chaotic light leaks in the corners. It came back clean, which I was honestly happy about. But when I posted the shots online, two people commented that they were too sharp, too even, and that I should have left the back open for a few seconds to get that authentic faded vibe. That rubbed me wrong. I didn't spend $18 a roll on Portra 400 to mimic someone's carelessness with a foam seal. Light leaks were a mistake, not a style choice. The whole community seems to worship this accidental red and orange streak look now, and it feels like we're romanticizing equipment failure over actual composition. Has anyone else gotten pushback for posting a technically clean exposure in a group that mainly celebrates messes?

Picked up an old Yashica at a yard sale last month and the light seal was basically dust. Every single shot came out with this orange haze down one side. My first thought was hey, free vintage vibes, but honestly it just made me miss the crisp shots from my digital camera. Funny how we want what we don't have, right?
