Blew 140 bucks on a bulk roller purchase, half of them are dead on arrival

Picked up 25 used film rollers off eBay from a seller in Ohio, thought I was scoring a deal for a road trip I had planned to Asheville. Turned out 14 of them have sticky shutters or broken advance levers, so I basically paid for a box of paperweights. I should have stuck with the two beat-up ones I already had and just cleaned them better. Anyone else get burned by those mystery lots, or do you only trust new gear now?
