Appreciation post: the lab tech in Sacramento who circled my light leak with a red pen
Picked up a roll of Portra 400 from a lab in Sacramento two weeks ago and about six frames had a fuzzy orange streak down the left edge. The tech didn't just hand me the envelope, she pulled out a red pen and circled the frames right there at the counter, then told me it was probably my back door seal and not a scratch. I went home and ran a flashlight along the seal with the back closed and sure enough, a thin line of light was coming through near the hinge. Taped it shut with gaffer tape and the next roll came back clean. Has anyone replaced a seal on an older body, and does the foam kit actually hold up or do I need to send it in?

Unless you're shooting in a rainstorm, tape works fine, right?
