Showerthought: rubber band around my Paterson tank stopped my leaks for good
Kept getting drips down the side during inversion, so I wrapped a thick rubber band right under the lid and it seals every time now. Anyone else rigging their tank instead of buying new gaskets?
I always figured a leaky tank just meant time for a new gasket, so I'd order one and wait a week for it to show up. Then I had a job where the drips were landing right on my notes and I got fed up, so I tried a fat rubber band from a bunch of broccoli and it worked. Now I keep two or three around the lid at all times and I haven't bought a gasket in months. The band adds just enough squeeze to keep things tight when I flip the tank. Cheap fix beats waiting on parts any day.
