Negatives on a lightbox vs. scanning first, which order do you process?

I used to scan everything right after drying, but last month I forced myself to sit with the loupe and lightbox first, and I caught focus issues I would've missed on screen. Do you guys review negatives physically before scanning, or is that just wasted time for you?
