Just realized I develop differently depending on who's watching me in the darkroom
Last Saturday at the community darkroom in Portland, this guy from the meetup kept glancing at my trays and I found myself agitating way more carefully than when I'm alone at home. He even said "you're really taking your time with that HP5" and it made me think, do we all perform better when someone's watching, or does it just make us slower and more tense? Some folks say developing is pure science, follow the massive dev chart times and temps exactly, but I feel like there's room for instinct and mood in there too. Is there a right answer, or do we just pick a side and defend it because it's worked so far?
