Hot take: my light seals cost me 2 rolls before I found the leak
Last month I shot a roll at the Santa Monica pier and got these weird orange streaks on like 6 frames, so I blamed the lab in Culver City first and then my lens. Turns out the foam seals on my old Canon were crumbling and letting light in through the back door the whole time, and it took me 2 weeks and a wasted roll of Portra to figure that out. Half the folks I ask say just tape the seams with black tape and move on, the other half say reseal it right or you are asking for more ruined shots. I went with the tape for now cause it was $4 at the hardware store. Which side are you on, cheap fix or full reseal job?
