Appreciation post: pushing my C-41 dev time to 3:45 at 102F fixed my flat negs
My home C-41 scans kept coming out muddy and low contrast and I blamed my cheap scanner for about 4 months. Last week I bumped my developer temp from 100F to 102F and added 15 seconds to the standard 3:30, and the density on my Portra 400 negs finally looks right under the loupe. Anyone else running a warmer, slightly longer C-41 cycle, or am I just pushing my luck with color shifts?
