The ending of 'The Dark Knight Rises' always bugged me, so I rewrote it in my head.

For years, my alternate endings were just vague 'what ifs' I'd think about after a movie. Then I saw a fan edit online about three months ago that changed everything. It cut the final scene with Bruce and Selina in the cafe, ending instead on Alfred's smile at the gravesite. That simple shift made the ending about Alfred's peace, not Bruce's fake death. Now I write down my ideas, focusing on one character's emotional arc. For 'The Dark Knight Rises,' my version ends with Gordon finding the fixed Bat-signal on the roof, no one there, just the symbol restored. It feels more hopeful and less neat. Anyone have a better fix for that movie's ending?

That fan edit sounds brilliant, focusing on Alfred's peace. Your version with Gordon and the Bat-signal is way more powerful than the cafe scene. It leaves it open, like the symbol itself is the hope. Honestly, that's a perfect fix.

You ever see a cut that just clicks? My buddy made one for a different movie, chopped out this whole drawn out ending. It was like the air got let back into the room, you know? That's what @lily89 is talking about with the cafe scene. Sometimes the quiet moment before the big thing is way stronger than showing the big thing itself. Letting the bat-signal just be there, without Bruce showing up, says everything. It makes the hope feel bigger because it's not tied to just one guy anymore. My friend's edit had that same feeling, where less story actually gave you more to think about.
