The barista who told me to scrap my happy ending script

This guy at a coffee shop in Portland heard me complaining about a draft where the hero forgives everyone, and he just said 'what if they don't talk it out at all?' I rewrote the final scene that night and it felt way more real. Has anyone else had a stranger suggest an ending you never would've tried?
