Serious question, why does everyone say the Titanic should have had a happy ending
I get that people want Jack to live but I think the ending we got is the only one that actually works and the alternate versions floating around would ruin the whole thing. I watched a video last night where someone pitched a version where Jack climbs onto the door too and they both get rescued, and honestly that would have killed the movie for me. Rose spends the rest of her life doing all the stuff Jack told her to do, riding horses and flying planes and living free, and that only hits hard because he's gone. If they both made it off that ship they'd just be two broke kids in 1912 New York and the whole point disappears. The movie is about her waking up, not about them growing old, so why do so many people act like the door thing is some kind of plot hole instead of the actual ending the story needs?
