Saw FURY ROAD in theaters last week and the whole time I kept thinking Furiosa should've died at the end

Honestly, the way she just walks away while Max disappears into the crowd felt too easy after everything she went through. Wouldn't it have hit harder if she went down taking Immortan Joe's rig with her, or something like that? Has anyone else got a version where a main character's survival felt like a cop out?

Yeah, I get what you're saying about it feeling too easy, but @felixb25 nailed it with that "her own victory" bit. The thing is, I've seen movies where the hero dies and it feels earned, but here Furiosa walking away actually stuck with me more because it showed she wasn't just a tool for Max to use up and toss aside. It made me think of how sometimes the bravest ending isn't a big explosion, it's just getting to live your life on your own terms.

Gotta disagree on this one. Furiosa surviving is what makes the ending work for me, since her whole arc is about breaking free from the system that used her up. If she went down in a blaze of glory, it'd just be another sacrifice for Max's story, not her own victory.
