Rewriting the ending of The Mist changed how I see horror movies now
I tried a fan theory where everyone dies in the supermarket instead of the famous ending, and it made the whole thing feel like a different genre. That version sticks with me more than the actual ending did, and I wonder if Stephen King would've liked it better. Has anyone else tried swapping endings on a movie you thought you knew?

Respectfully gotta disagree here. Darabont's ending is what makes the movie a masterpiece, switching it would turn it into just another monster flick with no real gut punch.

The prison escape would have been a weirdly happy ending for a story that grim from the start though, wouldn't it @wendy_murphy16?
