Vent: Found a way to stop false alarms from those cheap window sensors

I kept getting callbacks on a job in Austin where the customer's dog kept setting off the contact sensor on a sliding door. Tried adjusting the gap and even swapping the magnet but nothing worked. Anyone else had luck just putting the sensor on the frame instead of the door itself?

Man I don't get the big deal here. Its a contact sensor on a sliding door, the dog pushes it open a crack, the alarm goes off. That's just normal life with a pet. Youre acting like the customer is going to sue you or something over a false alarm. Slap the sensor on the frame if you want, but now youre just gonna have a bigger gap and the same issue when the dog leans on the door. Seems like overthinking a simple problem that a smarter dog or a different magnet would fix.

Hell @anthonykim, you're not thinking about the real issue - it's not the door gap, it's the vibration from that sliding door track when the dog pushes it.
