Update: My warehouse job without glass break sensors made me rethink things
I installed a system for a warehouse that skipped glass break detection completely. The owner said they had laminated glass and past false alarm issues. We used only vibration sensors on the windows, and it's been flawless for a full year. Maybe we push extra sensors when a basic setup works fine for some spots.

Imagine worrying about diamond tipped glass cutters and ocean's eleven style crews when we're talking about a warehouse full of plastic pallets. Next you'll have me adding lasers and pressure plates because someone might tunnel in. For a year, the system stops the real threat, which is some idiot throwing a rock, not a spy movie villain. Sometimes a locked door is just a locked door.

You mentioned it's been flawless for a year, but that's a pretty short time to judge a security system. Laminated glass is strong, but what if someone doesn't break it the usual way? Vibration sensors might miss cuts or other tricks. Skipping glass break sensors might save on false alarms, but it could leave a gap in protection. Sometimes the basic setup isn't enough when things get real.
