That Thursday in March where every panel firmware bricked on me
I had three DSC panels in a row go belly up during firmware updates last Thursday. First one froze at 23% and just sat there blinking at me for 20 minutes. Second one gave me a error code I've never seen before after I cycled power. Third one actually finished the update but then wouldn't register any zones. Took me till almost 7 PM to get them all sorted out with tech support on hold. Has anyone else had a run of bad luck with firmware updates on those newer panels?

Ugh, that sounds like a nightmare. What finally worked for me on those new panels was to literally unplug everything but the panel and the battery before trying the update no network cables, no keypads, nothing extra. Then I did the update over USB from a laptop instead of the app, and it finally took. I also learned to do them one at a time and give each one a hard power cycle before starting.

Nah, I gotta disagree with you here. Unplugging everything and doing it over USB feels like way too much hassle for something that should just work. I get that it worked for you, but for most people that's just asking for another headache. Plus, if the system is designed to fail without stripping it down to just the battery and panel, that's a design flaw. I've done updates on these panels three times now, and I just let them sit on the network with everything plugged in and they update fine through the app. Maybe your network setup is the issue, not the panels themselves.
