PSA: I was wrong about those new wireless door sensors
A customer in Phoenix insisted on using them for a whole house install six months ago, and I thought they'd be a headache. I put in a dozen of the Ajax Systems DoorProtect Plus units, expecting constant battery alerts. Not a single false alarm or low battery yet, even in the summer heat. Has anyone else run a full job on wireless sensors for this long with no issues?

Six months is nothing in this heat. What happens when those batteries hit the two year mark and all fail at once? I've seen too many wireless setups turn into a service nightmare after the honeymoon period. Phoenix will cook any electronics eventually.

That "honeymoon period" thing Thomas83 mentioned is everywhere, not just electronics. It's like when a new policy at work seems great until all the hidden problems show up a year later. You just have to plan for things falling apart eventually.

Oh man, you're totally right to bring that up! I've seen it happen so many times with outdoor tech. That first year is always great and then bam, everything starts going sideways once the real wear and tear sets in. The heat here is brutal, I'm always amazed anything with a battery lasts more than a few months honestly. Just have to go in expecting that stuff will need replacing and plan for it from day one.
