Panel stopped arming after a power surge in Tulsa, and the keypad won't take the code
Last week we had a nasty storm roll through Tulsa and a customer called me the next morning saying her keypad was beeping and would not arm. I got out there around 9am and found the panel had reset itself, but the keypad was totally dead to input, no chirps, nothing when you punch in the 4 digit code. I tried a full power cycle on the panel and swapped the keypad for a spare I had in the truck, and it came right up, so I am pretty sure the surge cooked the keypad board. The weird part is the zone expander looks fine and all the door contacts read normal on my meter. Has anyone seen a surge take out just the keypad and leave the rest of the system alive, or should I be telling her to replace the whole can?
