I wasted half a day on signal issues because of an old opener

I was setting up a wireless alarm system. The sensors would not stay connected. I found out an old garage door opener was causing interference. After switching channels, it was all good. I now check for other devices before starting.

My friend had a router get fried during a storm last year! It was totally dead, no lights or anything. Took him days to figure it out, just like @ray648 said. He had to buy a whole new one, and his internet was out the whole time. It was such a pain for his whole family. Those power surges can really wreck your gear without warning.
