Had a false alarm call because I forgot about the new neighbor's cat

I was out in Elmwood last Tuesday installing a hardwired panel when my dispatch came through about a tripped motion sensor at a house I serviced two weeks ago. Turned out the homeowner's new cat figured out how to jump on the kitchen counter right in front of the sensor, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has swapped to pet-friendly sensors after getting burned by stuff like this.

Oh man, "the new neighbor's cat" is such a classic modern life problem. It's like everything in our houses is getting smarter but somehow dumber at the same time. I've started noticing this weird pattern where all the tech we buy to make life easier just gives us new headaches instead. Like my smart thermostat keeps thinking I'm away when I'm just sitting on the couch not moving much, and my robot vacuum tries to eat my phone charger every single week. We're basically paying for the privilege of troubleshooting our own stuff.

Eh, it's not like the old problems were any better.
