Customer told me my first panel was mounted too high, and I spent a year compensating the other way

Guy said his 80 year old mom couldn't reach the keypad, so I dropped it to 3 feet off the ground on the next 4 jobs. Ended up with a service tech yelling at me for putting it right where a kid could grab it - anyone else get conflicting feedback like that?

Traded a senior citizen complaint for a lawsuit from some kid's parents. At this rate, I'll be mounting panels on the ceiling next year just to split the difference.

Used to be one of those people who rolled their eyes at safety complaints. Figured adults could handle a little trip hazard or a loose rail, kids bounce back anyway. But last month my sister's kid took a bad fall off some poorly installed playground equipment at a local park. Broke his wrist in two places. The parents who put that together were just trying to be helpful volunteers, not bad people. Changed my whole view on why those little details in the contract matter so much. Now I read every line twice and make sure the insurance paperwork is airtight before anyone touches a ladder.
