Changed my mind about testing glass break sensors

I was at a job in a Denver office building last month and the client's glass break sensor kept giving false alarms... I used to just test them with a key jingle, but the building manager showed me the specific frequency generator his old installer left behind. How do you guys actually test those things to be sure they're set right?

Honestly, is it that big a deal? I mean, a key jingle has worked fine for me for years. It's just a glass break, not a bank vault. Most of the time, if it goes off for a real break, the whole thing is already so loud and crazy that any sensor would catch it. Spending money on a special tool for that one job seems like overkill.

Look, @rodriguez.cora, a real glass break is a very specific sound a key jingle just doesn't match.
