Brand new panel died on me during a final walkthrough yesterday
I was doing a final test on a Vista 21iP I installed last week in a house out in Elmhurst. Everything tested fine before I left, but when I came back for the walkthrough the damn thing wouldn't even power on. No beeps, no lights, nothing. Checked the transformer, checked the battery, all good. Had to pull the whole panel and swap it with a spare I keep in my truck. Took me two hours to reprogram and rewire everything. Has anyone else had a Honeywell panel just crap out with no warning like that?

Man, that's rough. Have you noticed how everything nowadays seems to have a random failure rate that nobody talks about? I had a brand new refrigerator ice maker stop working after three days last month, no reason at all. Same thing happened with my buddy's new garage door opener - worked fine for a week then just hummed and died. It's like manufacturers are betting on the fact that most stuff will work for the first year so they can ship anything. Makes you wonder if these parts are even tested before they leave the factory.
