Was it worth spending $300 on a torque wrench I only used once?

I bought a brand new Snap-on torque wrench for an engine rebuild I did back in March, thinking I'd need it for every job. Turns out, after that single use it's just sitting in my box gathering dust while I reach for my old Craftsman every day. Did I fall for the hype or is premium gear still the right call for a one-time job?

Man, you're way overthinking this. It's a torque wrench, not a life decision.

Three years ago I spent 45 minutes staring at a torque wrench at Harbor Freight trying to decide if I should get the $60 one or the $120 one. My buddy finally came over, grabbed the cheap one, and said "you're tightening lug nuts not building a rocket ship." He was right then and I'm right now agreeing with you. Sometimes we just need to pick something and go with it instead of making everything a whole research project.
