Update: Was sure torque wrenches were a waste on small bolts until I snapped a #10 this morning
I always hand-tightened small bolts on panel covers thinking it was fine, but after I snapped a #10-32 screw on a Cessna 172 cowling this morning I finally bought a inch-pound torque wrench and now I see why everyone says to use them, has anyone else had a similar moment where a cheap mistake made you buy a tool you thought you didn't need?

Yeah that's a rough one. A beam style inch pounder saves your bacon every time.
