Read that a single Boeing 747 has over 6 million parts. Found that stat in an old maintenance manual at the hangar and it blew my mind.

Always figured it was just a big tube with wings. Seeing that number really puts the scale of the engineering into perspective. Makes you appreciate the thing even more.

Yeah I totally had the same thing honestly. I used to just see a plane and think "eh it's just a tube with wings, no big deal." But then you actually look at the numbers for how much fuel it burns or how many parts are in the thing, and it's like whoa. Really makes you rethink everything, you know?
