Rant: spent 6 months torquing flap actuator bolts by feel before a lead caught me
I was rushing a flap rig job on a King Air in Tulsa and just snugged the actuator bolts down with a stubby wrench, no torque wrench in sight. My lead watched me do it twice, handed me the manual, and pointed at the spec. Now I want to know how many of you have a shortcut you got away with until someone finally called it out?
Ever watch a guy torque his lug nuts with an impact gun and swear it's fine? I knew a guy like that, and his wheel passed him on the highway about a week later.
