I finally trust torque wrenches after a bad Monday in Tulsa

Had a nose gear bolt come loose on a Cessna 172 last month because I trusted my feel instead of clicking it, and the pilot caught it on preflight with about 3 threads left. Took me a full day of rechecking every fastener I'd touched that week to realize the cheap clicker I'd been avoiding was fine, I was the problem. Anyone else ever had a gut-check moment like that on a routine job?

...wait, THREE threads left on a nose gear bolt? That's not a gut check, that's a heart attack waiting to happen. Honestly, I would've had to sit down for a solid ten minutes if I found that on a preflight. Ngl, I've done the whole "I know my own strength" thing before, but never on something that critical. That pilot basically saved you from a really bad day, man. Tbh, I bet you didn't sleep right for a week after that one.
