Found a torque wrench calibration chart from 1978 in a Cessna 172 manual
I was flipping through an old maintenance log for a 1978 Cessna 172 and found a handwritten torque wrench calibration chart from that year. The values were way off by today's standards like 15% off on some bolts. Has anyone else come across old data that made you double check your tools?

Haha, oh man, that reminds me of a buddy of mine who bought an old 1970s pickup truck. He found a handwritten "tune-up schedule" tucked in the glovebox that said to set the timing by ear, literally "listen for the engine to sound happy." He tried it and the thing backfired so loud it shook his neighbor's windows. Took him forever to figure out the actual spec was way different from what that old paper said. It's wild how much stuff has changed, even just 40 or 50 years ago.
