Only 3 years? Rookie numbers lol. I've been out here wrenching by vibes and prayers since I started, my torque wrench is basically a fancy paperweight at this point. Congrats on finally joining the 1% of people who actually calibrate their tools though lmao. My dad always said 'if it clicks twice it's tight enough' and I've been living by that code ever since.

I mean, come on, people act like we're building rocket ships with these things. I've been using the same Harbor Freight special for five years now, never dropped a bolt or had anything back out on me. If you're doing head gaskets or engine internals, yeah, maybe it matters, but for 90% of the stuff a home mechanic touches, snug plus a quarter turn has never let me down. The whole calibration obsession feels like a way to justify buying a $300 tool when a $20 one and a little feel gets the same job done.
