Debate at the hangar last night about torque wrenches

Older guy says you should always back the spring off after each use. I never do that and mine has been fine for 3 years. Who's actually following the manual on this one?

You're taking the "actually" part too seriously... manuals are written by people who have never used the thing in real life. Half the time they're just covering their own backs in case something goes wrong. I'd trust a forum full of users over a product manual any day.
