Bought a $40 ultrasonic cleaner on a whim for carb parts and it actually works great

I was super skeptical those cheap ultrasonic cleaners would do anything for gummed up carbs but I grabbed one off Amazon anyway. After soaking a sticky Bendix float bowl from a 172 for 15 minutes the varnish just peeled off like sunburn. I still ran a wire through the jets after but the cleaner saved me an hour of brushing and scrubbing. Has anyone else had luck with the cheap ones or did I just get lucky?

Grabbed a $30 one off eBay for my old Ford tractor carb. Worked way better than I expected. The pilot jets were completely clogged. After a 10 minute bath with some simple green they looked new. Still had to hit a couple passages with a wire but it cut the cleanup time in half. I think the cheap ones are fine as long as you use the right cleaning solution.

Oh man, @drew_grant52 you're spot on. I did the same with a cheap ultrasonic from Amazon for my mower carb and it surprised me too, just gotta pair it with the right cleaner.
