Warning: My air fryer smoke alarm issue took 3 hours to figure out
I kept setting off the smoke alarm every time I made chicken wings. After cleaning the basket twice and checking the fan, I still had no idea why it was smoking so bad. Turns out I was piling the wings on top of each other instead of leaving space between them. The grease was dripping down and burning on the heating coil each time. It took me 3 full attempts and a lot of coughing to realize a single layer is the way to go. Has anyone else dealt with a dumb mistake that should have been obvious way sooner?

Toss them in a single layer next time and flip halfway through too.

Ngl, that reminds me of the time I tried roasting chickpeas and they ended up flying everywhere when I flipped them.
