The $30 silicone liner that ruined my air fryer experience
I bought one of those fancy silicone basket liners last month thinking it would make cleanup a breeze. Instead, my chicken came out soggy and pale because the liner blocked the hot air circulation. I tried it three times with different recipes, and every single batch was worse than cooking directly in the basket. That was $30 down the drain, and now I'm back to just wiping the basket with a damp paper towel after each use. Anyone else had a bad experience with accessories that promise easier cleanup but kill the crisp factor?

Thirty dollars for a piece of rubber is steep enough, but two batches of soggy wings is what really gets me. I get that people want to save time scrubbing, but if the liner turns your dinner into boiled sad food, it's not saving anything. The parchment trick sounds like a reasonable middle ground, at least you can toss it and still hear that crunch.

That 30 bucks could have bought you a whole extra pack of chicken thighs. The silicone thing works okay for stuff like reheating pizza slices that you plan to flip halfway, but for anything with moisture it just traps the steam and ruins the texture. I learned that trick the hard way with a batch of frozen wings, they came out looking boiled and sad. The only liner I still use is the little round parchment paper with holes punched in it, and even that I only trust for stuff that's already crispy.
