That week I burnt 4 batches of chicken wings before getting it right
Last Tuesday I was so excited to try out this new honey garlic sauce I saw on TikTok. I threw a bunch of frozen wings in my air fryer at 400 degrees like I always do and walked away for 20 minutes. Came back to a smokey kitchen and wings that looked like charcoal briquettes. Tried again Wednesday with thawed wings and a lower temp but they came out rubbery. Finally on Thursday I looked up a proper recipe and realized I needed to pat them dry and cook at 380 for 25 minutes flipping halfway. That batch came out perfect, crispy skin and all. I wasted like $15 on chicken just figuring out my new air fryer settings. Anyone else have a rough learning curve with their air fryer at first?

Realized after my third ruined dinner that we all treat new kitchen gadgets like they're magic instead of actually learning what they do lol. It's funny how a $40 air fryer can humble someone who's been cooking for years just because the heat moves different. Same thing happened to me with a cast iron pan last year - kept burning everything until I accepted I had to relearn the basics instead of blaming the tool.

And honestly @dakota479 I think this applies to way more than just cooking. We do it with fitness apps, budgeting tools, even relationships - expecting the thing itself to fix everything instead of putting in the work to understand how it actually works. Once you accept that every new tool just means finding a new rhythm instead of instant results, everything gets way less frustrating.
