Question about those silicone air fryer liners

I grabbed a set of two silicone liners for about $15 to keep my basket clean. They worked great for a few weeks, but one started to warp and melt a bit on the edge during a 400 degree cook. Has anyone else had this happen, or did I just get a bad batch?

My first set lasted exactly one chicken wing before I noticed a weird smell and found a warped edge. I figured it was user error or something but guess not.

Ugh, that's the exact reason I'm scared to use those things. A lot of those cheap silicone products aren't rated for high heat, even if the box says they are. That warping is a major red flag. I'd stop using it immediately because melted silicone could leach into your food. Maybe try the perforated parchment paper liners instead for safety? Have you checked if yours had a specific temperature rating printed on it?

Remember my aunt's weird jello salad that always tasted like plastic? Turns out she was mixing it in one of those "heat safe" bowls that definitely wasn't. Makes you wonder how much junk we're eating without even knowing, right? She used that bowl for years before someone pointed out the cloudy spots were from the material breaking down. Now I side-eye every kitchen gadget that feels even a little bit off.
