My neighbor lectured me for 10 minutes about preheating my air fryer
Last Tuesday I was in my driveway in Phoenix and my neighbor saw me tossing frozen fries straight into the basket without preheating. He started yelling that I'm ruining the coating and the texture won't be crispy at all. Has anyone else had a run-in with a kitchen perfectionist who just can't let things slide?

And honestly my frozen fries come out fine without preheating too. I just toss them in and let the air fryer do its thing. My neighbor acts like I'm committing a food crime or something lol. Meanwhile my kids devour them in about 30 seconds and nobody's complaining about texture.

My brother in law is exactly like that but with grilling. He showed up at my house once when I was making burgers and I had the grill on medium. He about lost his mind saying the sear won't happen right and I need it screaming hot. I let him take over and he burned the crap out of them anyway. Meanwhile my burgers were always just fine and my family ate them no problem. People get weirdly obsessed with tiny details that don't really matter in the real world. Your fries probably came out crispy enough to eat and that's what counts.
