I was wrong about frozen veggies in the air fryer

For the longest time I thought frozen vegetables would just turn into a soggy mess in the air fryer. I always stuck to fresh broccoli and cauliflower because I figured the ice crystals would ruin everything. Then last Tuesday I was in a hurry and threw a bag of frozen Brussels sprouts straight from the freezer into the basket at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes. I didn't even thaw them or pat them dry. They came out crispy on the outside and tender inside way better than I expected. I learned that the extra moisture actually steams them first then they crisp up just fine. Now I keep a few bags of frozen mixed veggies on hand for quick sides. Has anyone else had good luck with frozen stuff in their air fryer? What kind works best for you?

Huh, I gotta disagree a little. I tried frozen broccoli in mine once and it came out kind of chewy and sad. Maybe it was the temp or time but it just didn't crisp right for me. Fresh still wins in my book.

Yo did you dry the frozen florets first? My buddy Jake tried this with frozen broccoli last week and it came out all steamy and gross. He didn't pat them dry at all just tossed them in right out of the bag. Then he tried again but let them thaw on a paper towel for like 15 mins and patted them bone dry. Second batch came out crispy and actually pretty good. Still not as good as fresh but way closer than that sad chewy mess he had the first time.
