I saw a guy at the grocery store in Phoenix buy a 5 pound bag of frozen fries for his air fryer. He said 'fresh potatoes are a waste of time'. Is he right?

Totally get it. I switched to frozen fries last year and never looked back. The time you save is just... everything.

Oh I have to disagree on this one. I tried the frozen kind for a while, but they just don't crisp up the same. That fresh potato taste is totally missing. For me, the extra few minutes to cut real potatoes is completely worth it. The texture and flavor are just in a different league. I'd rather have fewer fries that taste amazing than a quick batch that's just okay.

My last batch of homemade fries turned into charcoal briquettes, so maybe I should try frozen.
